The Monastery of Evangelistria can be found on the east part of the island, 3 km away from Skopelos Town. It was built in 1712 on the hill of Palouki with an enchanting view of the sea. Nowadays, the monastery is inhabited by monks and the visiting hours vary depending on the season. Inside, you can admire the collection of the holy icons of the 14th century.
3. Pirate Graves
The pirate graves in Sedoukia are a must-visit place in Skopelos. They are located in the Karia Mountain, south of Skopelos Town. In this place, legend has it that there are the graves of some pirates which during the Medieval Times were trying to attack and steal the money from local people. However, during the pirate raid, some of them died because the locals were defending themselves. In this spot, the dead pirates were buried and right next to them, so did their gold.
